Text:

[Music] good morning i'm in west ham field church in north yorkshire and i'm in the north aisle where there is a very splendid array of monuments to the marmian family who are the prominent family here they're in very poor condition i'm afraid to say so all of these monuments here the late 13th and 14th century are really suffering badly with the dam they find they were at one point i remember being here 20 years ago and they're in much better condition this lovely canopy tomb here um this figure here is in have a advanced state of decay i'm afraid to say the top of the effigy is nearly gone due to the damp i can see all that frosting coming through all the salts coming through from the damp of the wall and this effigy here likewise very poor condition indeed it's a nice cross-legged effigy overnight here by the way these are not crusaders the idea of cross legs like this does not denote that these people went on the crusade it is just a way of showing
