have you noticed in the last 20 years U.S army soldiers almost seem a little scrawny well there's a reason for that so historically in the last 20 years the US Army has struggled a lot with what's acceptable for height and weight with soldiers for myself I was five foot nine but stayed at 155 pounds for the whole time I was on the 101st Airborne now one of the direct correlations is looking at what the Army standards were for their physical fitness tests running a two Miler doing your push-ups doing your sit-ups so obviously a body type like this is ideal to be a soldier but now with these integrated PT tests that are more geared towards what your combat roles are lifting heavy things and stuff like that you may notice soldiers look a little more buff and a little bigger this has also started a whole controversy and drama between whether or not females should be in combat roles because the physical standards are a little different but this is something the Army
