so Mississippi news anchor and meteorologist Barbie Bassett has been off the air since she repeated a lyric by Snoop Dogg that used his term for the n-word she's been at the network for 23 years but is no longer listed as a news team member on their website leading to speculation that she's been fired now I don't know why she's been fired but I do know that people have to understand that sometimes stuff comes out of folks mouths and you might want to start with hey maybe that wasn't the smartest thing to say as opposed to you're out yeah that's just me having been in this situation before yeah well anyone you you know giving her the opportunity I will tell you I'm going to admit as a person of color can we say the first part of the lyric probably not no okay yeah it's it's from a famous song and it's hard you guys you guys know it's hard to discuss but I didn't know that that meant the n-word I did I'm from the Bronx my people are from Georgia and Puerto Rico
